Brief Information of the Event: -

On March 1st, 2023, AECC, a renowned Study Abroad Consultant, conducted an illuminating session on Career Guidance for Higher Education Abroad. The session aimed to provide comprehensive insights into pursuing educational opportunities overseas. The session commenced with an overview of popular destinations for higher education, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Europe. Attendees gained valuable information about the academic programs, admission procedures, and scholarship opportunities available in these countries.

AECC's experienced counselors elucidated the importance of selecting the right course and university based on individual interests, career goals, and academic strengths. They emphasized the significance of thorough research and planning in making informed decisions regarding higher education abroad.

Participants were introduced to various standardized tests required for admission, such as the TOEFL, IELTS, GRE, and GMAT. Detailed guidance on exam preparation strategies and resources was provided to assist aspirants in achieving their desired scores.

Report: SBPIM has organized session under Competitive Exam and Higher Education cell on March 27, 2018. Expert Ms. Prof. Bhagyashree Pande was invited to guide students on National Eligibility Test (NET) which is held for postgraduate candidates who are seeking admission in Ph.D research or university level teaching jobs. She gave the detail description saying that NET is administering by CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research). Madam gave the tips to the students to choose good books under proper guidance, since the syllabus of the NET is really huge, candidates need to be thorough with the syllabus and a systematic approach should be adopted in order to cover each and every topic. She also explained the latest pattern of the NET question paper where three papers; two of 100 marks each and one of 150 marks.

Guidance on National Eligibility Test

Paper I tests the teaching aptitude, Paper II and Paper III test the subject. She also advised the students to take mock tests as possible because this will give them good idea of the exam pattern and where exactly need improvement. In the last she urged students to fill the forms for upcoming NET exam for which last date is April 6, 2018, Mr. Amarish Padma coordinator, proposed vote of thanks for the inputs and her valuable time.

Report: - Guest Lecture under Competitive Exam and Higher Education cell was organized on March 24, 2018 at 10.30 am. The key speaker for session was Mr. Akash Sangole, Panasonic India, Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai. The session started with discussion with the students to understand their career objectives and their motive for appearing for PhD exams. Sir gave the tips to the students how to practice and solve the papers to crack the exams. He has also shared his experience with students how he did preparation and cracked PhD PET. Sir also informed the how PhD can help in his career and can be useful to students’ career. Sir highlighted on various type of books, internet sources are available in market for preparation of these examinations. Students also raised the question to clear their doubt. In the last Dr. Kajal Maheshwari proposed the vote of thanks and concluded the session.

Dr. Hansraj Thorat has conducted the detail session for MBA students to give them direction. He spoke on the “Opportunities of Higher Education and Employment in Commerce Faculty”. He guided students to prepare for PSU jobs or government jobs after post-graduation. The rationale for it remains better perks and benefits along with job security. He told the students there are benefits like higher pay, transparency in promotion and increment, convenient working hours, medical facilities, opportunities to travel across regions and sometimes and often people associate government jobs with social status as well.

Opportunities of Higher Education and Employment in Commerce Faculty

He told to students there openings for personnel officers in banks. The personnel officer in a bank is responsible for human resources activities. The job function of a personnel officer could revolve around posting or transfer of employees, arranging training programmes, designing perks, conducting promotional exercises, retirement benefit disbursal and supervising the performance of staff.

He has also guided students on most booming banking sector is seeing a tremendous growth and competition. To stand this competition, marketing comes into function. The marketing officer is responsible for devising strategies for marketing the bank products. The duties of the marketing manager could include coordinating with ad agency, promoting products to banks, managing social media, managing marketing campaigns and anything related.

Dr. Daniel Penkar’s , Director SBPIM conducted a special session special session for MBA-1st year students on- “Case Study Presentation” on 24 Sept 2015 at S. B. Patil Institute of Management, Nigdi, Pune. This interactive Workshop was conducted where group of student’s analyzed the real world cases. Groups synthesize, evaluate and apply information and concepts learned in class lectures and text. The entire group presented those cases in front of faculty members and discussions were carried out through hands on exercise.

Since most of our students do not have industry experience, they can understand the theory and practice of management better in the context of case studies of various organizations. The focus of the Workshop was to discuss ways of handling case by a faculty with different groups of students. The case study Workshop is an initiative to provide a great learning.

September 23, 2015: A lecture on “Greece Economy” by Dr. Kirti Dharwadkar, Dean, Academics was conducted for MBA I and MBA II year students of SBPIM. She explained about the Greece’s Debt Crisis where she touched the point How does the crisis affect the global financial system? She explained to the students the Greek financial crisis was a series of debt crises that began with the global financial crisis of 2008. Its source originated in the mismanagement of the Greek economy and of government finances, however, rather than exogenous international factors. To compound the problems, Greece’s membership in the Eurozone prevented it from exercising full control over its monetary policy, so interest rates were kept too low for too long relative to the inflationary pressures that were building up in the Greek economy.

March 3, 2014: PCET’s S. B. Patil of Management invited experts to test the personality of the students to measure up in Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism. Dr. Dhananjay B. Bagul Director, ICMR and Professor from Rajmata Jijau Shikshan Prasarak Mandal in Pimpri Chinchwad were invited in the Institute. Where students were taken to the computer lab and the Big Five Personality Test were conducted to understand Why do people respond differently to the same situations?

August 30 and 31, 2013: Grading test was conducted for MBA I and II year students to judge the students’ performance. Test formats were designed in well-balanced approach to test their aptitude, appearance, etiquettes, communication, confidence etc. Clearing the aptitude, GD and PI is one of the most important steps in securing a dream job.

The students were graded on their performance in GD, PI and aptitude to understand their current performance level. Now a day’s group discussions and personal interviews serve as the best ways to assess the efficiency of candidates. The main objective was to bring the underperformance students level up and prepare them for future placements and other competitive exams.

Later on the students were trained to perform well in the various tests that are conducted by companies when they come for requirement placements as well other competitive exams. The students were prepared on personality development and moral boosting and confidence building sessions. The key to success is train your mind to think differently. Students were given personal remarks on the area of the improvement. Suggestions were given that GD – PI are the verbal responses, communication and thought process that students showcase for instance you can't be caught thinking too much during your interview, it needs to be spontaneous.
