The New Labour Code
The National Institute of Personnel Management – Pune Chapter, in collaboration with S. B. Patil Institute of Management (SBPIM), successfully organized a highly informative one-day workshop on “The New Labour Code” for HR professionals. With participation from 130+ HR leaders representing diverse industries, the programme served as a valuable platform for understanding the implementation and practical implications of the Four Labour Codes in today’s workplace.
The workshop commenced with a formal inauguration by distinguished dignitaries including Dr. Girish Desai (Executive Director, PCET), Dr. Kirti Dharwadkar (Director, SBPIM), Dr. Kalyan Pawar (Chairman, NIPM Pune Chapter), Mr. Balasaheb Sonawane (Vice Chairman, NIPM), Adv. Prashant P. Kshirsagar (Additional Secretary, NIPM), Dr. Ajit Thakur (Secretary, NIPM), along with NIPM members and representatives. Dr. Kalyan Pawar delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for insightful discussions throughout the day.
The workshop featured expert-led sessions by industry specialists including Adv. Adwait Patwardhan on the Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions Code, Adv. Jayant Shaligram on the Social Security Code, Dr. Shrikant Malegaonkar on the Industrial Relations Code, and Adv. Pankaj Moholkar on the Payment of Wages Code. Each expert provided practical insights and legal perspectives tailored to the needs of HR professionals.
The programme concluded with an interactive panel discussion and Q&A session, allowing participants to discuss implementation challenges and industry concerns. Anchored by Adv. Prashant Kshirsagar and concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Balasaheb Sonawane, the workshop enhanced participants’ legal awareness, compliance understanding, and preparedness for the evolving labour landscape.
World Disability Day Celebration
On 3rd December 2025, students of PCET’s S. B. Patil Institute of Management (SBPIM) actively volunteered during the World Disability Day Celebration organized by the Social Development Department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC Divyang Bhavan Foundation) at Ramkrishna More Auditorium, Chinchwad. A total of 40 student volunteers participated with dedication, empathy, and professionalism to support the successful conduct of the programme.
The student volunteers contributed significantly by assisting specially-abled guests with seating arrangements, wheelchair and walker support, food assistance, movement coordination, crowd guidance, and overall event management, ensuring smooth execution of the event.
Dr. Kirti Dharwadkar, Director, SBPIM, appreciated the commendable efforts of the volunteers, while Dr. Roopali Kudare, Head – Academics, congratulated the team for displaying leadership, responsibility, and commitment. Dr. Kajal Maheshwari, Faculty Coordinator, was acknowledged for effectively guiding and leading the volunteer initiative. Special appreciation was also extended to Mr. Prashant Sayyias, President – Student Council, council members, and the volunteer team for their dedicated coordination and service.
In recognition of their valuable contribution, the student volunteers were felicitated by PCMC Divyang Bhavan. The initiative reflected SBPIM’s commitment to social responsibility, community service, and leadership through meaningful engagement beyond academics.
SBPIM Students at KISAN Agri Exhibition 2025
More than 45 students of PCET’s S. B. Patil Institute of Management (SBPIM) actively volunteered at the KISAN Agri Exhibition 2025 held from 10th to 14th December 2025, gaining valuable hands-on exposure and contributing to one of India’s premier agricultural platforms. The experience provided students with practical insights into the agricultural sector, industry practices, and event management.
Dr. Kirti Dharwadkar, Director, SBPIM, visited the exhibition and congratulated the students for their dedication, discipline, and enthusiastic participation. Dr. Roopali Kudare, Head – Academics, extended her best wishes to students, encouraging them to make the most of this valuable learning opportunity, while Dr. Kajal Maheshwari, Faculty Coordinator, guided and motivated students throughout the exhibition.
Supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, the event served as a meaningful experiential learning platform, strengthening students’ industry exposure and engagement beyond the classroom while promoting practical understanding and professional development.
Nirbhaya Session – Strengthening Self: Legal Awareness & Mental Resilience
Under the Board of Students’ Development (BSD) Cell of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust’s S. B. Patil Institute of Management successfully conducted the NIRBHAYA Session on 27 November 2025 at the PCET Campus. The session focused on empowering young women through awareness of personal safety, legal rights, mental wellbeing, and emotional resilience. Expert speakers Adv. Akshata Netke and Dr. Meetali More shared valuable insights, equipping students with practical knowledge and confidence. The program was guided by Dr. Kirti Dharwadkar, with successful planning and coordination by Dr. Roopali Kudare and Dr. Kajal Maheshwari. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and volunteers, making it a meaningful and impactful initiative.
Students’ Symposium
SBPIM successfully hosted the Students’ Symposium under SPPU’s Quality Improvement Programme on 11th February 2026, where MBA students showcased insightful and thought-provoking group presentations on socially relevant themes such as Sustainable Development, Women Safety, National Education Policy, Career Planning, and Developed India. The symposium provided a vibrant platform for students to exchange ideas, enhance critical thinking, and contribute meaningful perspectives toward societal and national development.
SBPIM Volunteers at Run2Feed 2026
PCET’s S. B. Patil Institute of Management (SBPIM) proudly participated in Run2Feed Marathon 2026 – Season 2, held on 8 February 2026 at PCMC Ground, Pimple Saudagar, Pune, under the Food for Life initiative with the inspiring theme “Run Against Hunger.” The event promoted the spirit of social responsibility by combining the joy of running with the joy of giving.
SBPIM students enthusiastically contributed as volunteers, actively supporting the successful organization of the marathon through their dedication, teamwork, and commitment to community service. Their commendable volunteering spirit was appreciated by the organizers and participants alike.

Elocution Competition 2024 – Unleashing the Power of Expression
PCET’s SBPIM organized an Elocution Competition on 3rd October 2024 for MBA-I students under the Student Development Cell, providing a platform to express views confidently in English, Hindi, and Marathi. Topics ranged from leadership in a digital world to India’s role in the global economy. Winners were awarded medals and certificates by Director Dr. Kirti Dharwadkar. The event was coordinated by Dr. Kajal Maheshwari and Dr. Heena Mulani, with enthusiastic participation and support from student coordinators.
